Advanced Repair and Custom Design Jeweler in Bolivar, MO

The story of our family working in the jewelry industry started in the 1930’s with Lotus Cameron. After years of doing clock and watch repair, Lotus began training his nephew, Almon Carter, who learned how to repair watches and clocks and eventually settled in Bolivar, MO, where he started Carter Jewelers, LLC.  Almon began offering jewelry, watch and clock repair and became well known and loved throughout the community.

Years later in 1987, Almon’s son, Gary Carter, who had worked in a number of jewelry stores in Michigan and had owned his own business doing wholesale work for Jewelers and producing jewelry for a wholesaler, returned to Bolivar to team up with his father at the store. Once Gary came to work with his father, Almon bought the building that Carter Jewelers, LLC is located in today and eventually turned over ownership of the business to Gary in 2003.  Having studied with Gemological institute of America in stones, on top of having done an apprenticeship at the Diamond Exchange, Gary has a vast knowledge of diamonds and colored stones, which he uses to better serve the business with even more diverse expertise.
